A people person, I always relish learning about what makes people tick including myself. My first career as a broadcast journalist and my current work as a psychotherapist have always drawn me to learn about and understand the stories woven through peoples lives. The love of family and friends is extremely important to me.
Nature and its elemental forces of water, earth, fire and air inspire me to be passionate about the sea, waterfalls, mountains, deserts, and roaring open fires. My Celtic roots entice me back to the Scottish Isles and West Coast of Ireland with a sense of coming home.
Creative, Im interested in the arts, literature, music and dance my passion for them coming more from the heart than the intellect.
Empowering people is important to me, tackling politics with a small p, willing to do my bit (however small) to help change things I perceive as being awry with the world.
Im spiritual rather than religious, and teach Mindfulness meditation. My own meditation practice brings me a sense of groundedness and peace, and I recognise the stillness and calm it can also bring others. Nature particularly inspires my meditation practice, weather permitting . . .
When not quite so grounded (!) I delight in my sense of mischief and fun, enjoying that childlike quality of innocent humour and delight both in myself and others, very much from the moment rather than constructed humour and jokes.
An independent soul and thinker, I miss having someone special in my life - a kindred spirit, a best friend, to share all that life brings. Im looking for a partner I feel comfortable with, no matter what the setting - walking the dog in the countryside, beachcombing for driftwood, curled up beside an open fire reading a book, out and about at concerts, galleries/museums, or perhaps sharing a meal with friends. I appreciate honesty and would like to meet someone who knows himself, has humility yet also values his own qualities and place on this earth.
